From 1936 to 1940, Heidegger took on Nietzsche’s philosophy in a number of Freiburg lectures. This study examines Heidegger’s reception of Nietzsche based on all accessible materials. It shows that Heidegger’s dialogue with Nietzsche is characterized by recursive interpretive patterns.
